Oh, that bird's eye view is fairly recent isn't it? Most of the site clearance can be seen, although new west works is still standing and I think that has also gone now.
Is there any way to find out the date of a Google map?

Not that I'm aware of...but I suspect they revisited the cities covered by the streetview last summer so that the satellite and street images matched.

Not quite matched - the street view shows some of the long office block building being demolished, while the aerial view shows it all intact.

Oh well there goes that theory then! I'll look and see if there's any info around on that front.
