    The wait is over...

Post by Dynamo on Thu May 12, 2011 5:09 pm

    ...for the advert.

    According to Facebook.

The wait is nearly over and the first showing of the new MG6 GT television advert is now less than 48 hours away. Coinciding with our national launch weekend, the nationwide debut screening will take place at approximately 11.20am on ITV1 during the Coronation Street omnibus. This will be followed by a prestigious slot in the FA Cup Final build up at 1.20pm.

My thoughts were the same. At the same time, its hardly a peak viewing time either. Most people will have seen Corrie when it was first shown during the week, As for the Cup Final slot, I know that the cup final will have oodles of coverage during the day, but not that many people will follow it from start to finish like they used to back in the 60's and 70's, and also, the coverage is split between the BBC and ITV, and possibly even Sky, so the viewing figures are going to be more marginalised.

They just showed the advert at 11.28. Very Happy Shorter version than the one on the MG web site. I hope that the producers of Corrie pay MG rolaylties for getting people to watch their programme. I bet they've never had such a big audience for Actimel and Weightwatchers. Laughing

Looking forward to the next episode now; wonder if the series will go on for as long as the meerkats?

Now that product placement is legal on UK TV they could have a UK version of Meteor Shower Dangling Carrot

Mind you, that is probably a little extravagant to sell 2000 cars...

Yeah thats a swizz. No TF's either, though there is a glimpse of an F. I suppose that if you look back at all the models that Mg have produced over the years then I dare say that a lot of other models don't get shown either though.

I watched the FA cup final in the pub yesterday and when the advert for the car was shown at half time, a few of the lads I was sat with were impressed with it. Very Happy
