MG arrives in Ukraine - Mon Oct 31, 2011 2:41 pm

I don't understand the double selling of both MG550 and MG6. The 550 just looks awkward compared to the 6, especially when there's a saloon MG6 on offer, why not just ditch the badly rebadged 550?

Impressive... - Wed Mar 16, 2011 11:43 am

Did around 130 miles in an MG6 TSE yesterday, seriously impressed with it. It's not perfect, but in terms of dynamics, it's very, very good. The pricing offers serious value for money, too.

Great damping, superb steering, neat handling too. I am putting together a big 5 pager for MG Enthusiast so I can't say too much. Those of you that have doubted the new line of MGs, get down to a dealer and try one...

MG to enter Israel - Fri Nov 19, 2010 8:01 pm

I've driven the 6 on two occasions, gently round Longbridge with Guy Jones sat next to me, and as fast as I could up Goodwood hill. I felt if anything, the 6 was too quiet. It missed the rasp of my old ZS. I've driven an awful lot of cars this year ranging from an Audi R8 Spyder, all the way through to a 1959 Ghostbusters Miller Meteor Cadillac Ambulance, and thought the the 6 was a great car, well built and suitably hushed.

Interesting time with MG, the Zero looks great in the metal.

As for Windy's question about the indicator on the wing, it's been replaced by (sadly cheap looking) plastic grille.

I'm putting a report together for AROnline, so I'll post links up when it's online. Very impressed by the 6 though. I'll take a TSE, in red, please!

I should point out too that only four of us there were journalists...

That's hilarious-I wonder where they found my quote from? That's really made me laugh. I wonder what the original English was? As far as I know I've not written anything about the special editions, but I think I talked about the orange paint in my Goodwood FoS test drive. Thanks for the link Windy, that's made my day, Laughing Laughing Laughing

MG6 Conquest and Breath LE Models - Sat Oct 09, 2010 8:18 am

Found these on the Chinese MG website, in the Car Club section:

The red reminds me of the Rover 200 BRM LE, I think it looks ace, really lifts the interior. Hopefully its a sneak preview of what will be on offer come launch.

Can't find any larger pics, I'm sure 'secret SAIC employee' ( Laughing Laughing Laughing ) Windy will find some better pics!

I don't mean to rant - Mon Sep 27, 2010 10:08 pm

But Jeez, how dull is the other forum at the moment, its not even worth lurking on. The same few banging on about how crap a car is with no experience of it! Good lord, it gives your ****hole tooth ache!

Perception is a funny thing, isn't it. I recently blogged about how MINI should drop all the Union flag stuff from their cars because it's not British anymore. MINI a 'British' brand beloved by so many doesn't employ a single UK designer, or have a design office in the UK, yet the German developed, Austrian built Countryman is advertised with Union Jacks applenty.

MG gets a kicking in certain quarters for its Chinese parentage yet its design is British-what goes on in peoples heads?

Uff. Rant over... Wink
