MG5 Spy Images - Fri May 20, 2011 7:38 pm
Looking good, I like the interior changes, very similar to current Vauxhalls, but with less buttons thank god. Actually according to G shaw that makes it cheap as it doesn't have many buttons lol.
Maxus MPV @ Shanghai Auto Show - Fri Apr 22, 2011 7:16 am
Windy wrote:patpending wrote:so are they sticking with the Maxus brand, then?
it's a Euro IV diesel - here car engines have to be Euro V, don't they? Or is it different a) in China b) for diesels?
Yes, Maxus is the brand name.
I guess the will be an improved spec deisel by the time it arrives here, EUIV is fine for China at present.
That should be simple, the LTI TX4 has the same engine and I think that is Euro V.
Maxus MPV @ Shanghai Auto Show - Wed Apr 20, 2011 1:21 pm
Well it looks better, shame the skip badge has gone lol. I see they have sorted a complaint that my dad had with his Maxus which is they have put an extra little mirror on the wing mirror which helps when reversing.
Roewe W5 SUV @ Shanghai Auto Show - Mon Apr 18, 2011 6:35 pm
Isn't the W5 just a polished turd Ssangyong Kyron?
Roewe 750 Facelift @ Shanghai Auto Show - Mon Apr 18, 2011 1:39 pm
How come the 750 gets LED DRLs but the MG6 doesn't?
MG5 Concept Car - Mon Apr 18, 2011 1:37 pm
That is a stunning car, obviously it will be down toned for the production version, but still nice.
MG5 Concept Car - Thu Apr 07, 2011 11:57 pm
Looks stunning, best looking out of the new MGs, but it is strange having two Focus rivals. Can't wait to see the real thing.

SAICs new Tonka toys - Wed Feb 23, 2011 2:34 pm
So are they going to show the new van soon then? It would be good for the LDV to be sold in the UK again, with these new updates.
The new Streetwise - Sun Jan 23, 2011 6:51 pm
I didn't like the streetwise, it was ugly, interior was cool though, especially the two rear seats, I always called it the NVSW - notverystreetwise lol.
What Car reader test on the MG6 - Sun Jan 23, 2011 2:19 pm
Windy wrote:Steven211 wrote:The whatcar reader review was hardly amazing, they expect the car to have 'perfect' quality, I do not expect perfection, especially from a new car company, that one guy trying to compare it to a VW was an idiot, MG are not trying to rival VW, they are trying to rival Alfa Romeo and Mazda etc in my opinion.
The first two are Jaguar drivers, then a Golf GTI driver, an MG RV8 driver and finally a Honda Accord driver.
Jaguars cost twice as much as the MG6 and the MG RV8 cost £26,500 back in 1993 so it's not surprising if the MG6 didn't quite match their standards. I would think that Golf and Accord drivers would choose their cars for different reasons than an MG driver would.
Why no Ford Focus driver?
At least one of them mentioned the MG ZT, which must have been from over 15 years ago if the start of the video is to be believed!
Lol that guy with the X-Type makes me laugh, he comments on quality yet he owns a Ford Mondeo that has had a Jaguar badge nailed on it and the quality is rubbish in the X-type.
The Guangzhou Motor Show - Sun Jan 23, 2011 12:53 am
Those power figures are fine I think, but isn't that indirect injection? Isn't the UK ones getting direct injection for Euro 5 as that will put the power up more.

Only the UK flag at the top right!
I found http://www.yuejin.co.uk/ more interesting, if only that it is now "forbidden"
Apparently Yuejin trucks are in future to be sold as IVECO trucks.
Not that, look it says eco concept LTD on the right.

It's definitely restarting, the Wuxi factory is building prototypes now. We just don't have any UK specific news.
Be great if they started production in UK as kit form if they kept a bit of the factory, that place was huge, I am looking forward to see the changes, so it is definitely SAIC who own them then?

Windy wrote:Steven211 wrote:I want that MG6 sport, that bumper is mean, love it. The boot space looks good in the MG3 and that engine looks tiny lol, hope its a good engine.
Small engines weigh less which means better performance and handling
Some say it is a little noisy at high revs but others like the noise, other than that I've not seen any bad comments. The complaints are always about the gearbox on the R350, seems to work well but there are a significant number of complaints about abnormal noises, might be a reason to choose the MG3's AMT gearbox.
Yep that's true, I like noisy engines so I don't care as long as it doesn't sound like a Wankel with that buzzing and as long as it doesn't drone then its fine.

MG to enter Israel - Thu Nov 18, 2010 9:54 pm
Mike wrote:Israeli, you are correct about Honda accord and Superb pricing, however the approximate difference is between 4000$ to 8000$ dollars(skoda suberb- 43000$), which considered to be the same category and it's not a very big difference if it's 40000$,43000$ or 48000$ comparing to what you get.
To Windy,
Concerning the noise isolation, you can barely hear yourself beyond 4000 RPM. You might consider that a good noise isolation ,but most of the modern cars I've drove were not that noisy, specially in that category.
Maybe the demo cars they have are a little different from the actual product, but I doubt that.
Good job we are not getting your versions then, Autocar magazine tested a UK pre production model of the MG6 (basically a MG550) and they said its best in class to drive. I looked at the UK spec MG6 last weekend at its launch show and I was impressed with the quality and the price.

Sitting in a Focus is like sitting in a black hole, they are so dull but the MG feels fresh and new.
Maybe a modern, bigger 5 door version of the Rover 220 coupe? But obviously an MG rather than a Rover.
I think its more like a SD1 but smaller and an MG.
VITESSE baby
My dad had a Rover Vitesse, he hated the thing, he said it was like a truck, I am surprised SIR Jackonicko has not commented on the review on .ORG, I am waiting for him to moan lol.
