It sounds like her. In fact, thinking about it, nothing else in the whole world sounds quite like Björk, so it must be her!

You seem to have an eclectic taste in music pat, so I recommend her album Debut to you. Vespertine is good, too.

The Björk version is credited as her and somebody (forgotten who)...

So it is.

I know the song as Play Dead from her 1993 album Debut. The sleeve notes say it was composed by Björk and David Arnold and that it was taken from the soundtrack album for the film 'The Young Americans'

The tune in the Vectra advert is similar, but not the same.

The question is: which came first? Her recording or the Vectra advert? (Clearly not the MG6 version!). When was that version of the Vectra launched?
like the Astra and the Corsa, Vauxhall is a (some) generation(s) behind with the Vectra:

The second model, the Vectra B, was introduced in 1995, and the model range included an estate version for the first time. This model replaced the Vauxhall Cavalier in the UK. The Vauxhall badged Vectra B was the last Vauxhall to be produced at the company's Luton plant, where the end of automobile production was announced at Christmas 2000, taking effect just over a year later[3].

So after Björk (I had not heard that song on the radio until recently).

Is the MG6 advert Björk?

I doubt it involved IP infringment, the Music Copyright Society of China has been clamping down on such things over the last couple of years, they follow international rules these days.
